Essential Up-Styling

We strongly recommend that students take these courses in order, Step 1 – Essential Up-Styling followed by Step 2 – Creative Up-Styling. This will maximise your learning, as one course builds on the other. We also suggest you leave 2-3 months between each step to allow you time to practice what you have learned in Step 1 – Essential Up-Styling before moving on to more advanced up-styles in Step 2 – Creative Up-Styling.

In Step 1 – Essential Up-Styling, we start from the beginning with the consultation as the key to understanding what the client wants and what will suit them to learning the essentials of how to put hair up, build a style, balance and structure, how to choose the perfect upstyle and how to start the foundation section right through to finishing the fronts

• Intended for: Stylists at the start of their Up-Styling career.
• Format: Demonstrations / Hands-on workshop.
• What you need to bring with you: Full tool kit, as you would use for Up-Styling (tail comb, Up-Styling brush, paddle brush, bobby pins, curling wand, iron & bobbins). Please bring along any hair jewellery or pieces, you wish to incorporate into your updo.
• Materials provided: Mannequin head, for your use on the day & completion certificate.
